Re: Meanwhile in Iraq & Syria
TL;DR: Arabs are blowing up each other's kids in record numbers. The West continues to frantically search for a reason to make their populace give a flying fuck as oil prices creep upwards. In other news...

Exactly what do they hope to achieve with this walk?TheReal_ND wrote:
That's not how you crusade you silly SJW'sOn Dec 26th 2016 an international group of citizens will leave Berlin, Germany and head to Aleppo, Syria.
It's time to act. We can no longer sit in front of our laptops and do nothing. We can't watch more news from Syria and do nothing.
We've had enough of clicking the sad or shocked faces on Facebook and writing “This is terrible” and “We're so powerless”.
No, we are not!
And we refuse to silently and passively take it anymore. We've withdrawn our consent to war and killings. We're ready to deny powerlessness. We want to go and help people like us, who just were not lucky enough to be born in Berlin, London or Paris. We will not tolerate the siege of Aleppo anymore. Civilians for civilians, we will walk, hand in hand, from Berlin, through the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece and Turkey, to Aleppo. We'll march along the so-called “refugee route”, just the opposite direction.
And we need you!
Get the media's attention? The media is already been giving A LOT of attention to the Syrian civil war. More than any of the other civil wars going on around the world at the moment. The public is over saturated with images and stories from this war, so a couple of people taking a long walk down there would probably get some news coverage, but it would drown in the more horrific and real stories coming from the people walking the other way.
And once they're there, then what? They're simply just going to be a drain on the humanitarian relief effort going on there, if the siege is broken, and the situation is somewhat stabilized.
They could've gone to Turkey, or Lebanon, and actually worked in the refugee camps. That would've helped at least some people. This is just suicidal virtue signalling.

Sounds more and more like the Crusades, actually...

Meh, takes balls to do that, like Christians before the lions balls. Not my cup of liberal tea, and I wager not a lot of others. Super ballsy, but the liberal elites are just as inclined to build another wall at Vienna and tell South East Europe to deal. The whole notion that liberals in Europe want ethnic minorities streaming in is a horseshit. Push comes to shove they'll let Russia do some ethnic cleansing, whine about that, but then go enjoy their craft organic beer and craft organic sausage without worrying about offending anyone.

How on earth did Conservatives decide that artisinal, local foods are 'elistist' and not the exact fucking thing that would save rural economies?? Makes absolutely no sense to me..Cid wrote:Meh, takes balls to do that, like Christians before the lions balls. Not my cup of liberal tea, and I wager not a lot of others. Because conservatives had their good paying jobs fucked over and they can't afford the artisinal bullshit that helps the environment and makes your shit smell like baby vomit? Not sure what to tell you, that craft artisinal organic shit is expensive.
Edit: I suppose the next thing you'll ask is, "Why are conservatives eating all of this cheap high calorie food that acts on the brain the same way a drug does, and why do they pray to God that they don't get diabetes, why can't they just spend more money? Silly poors."

No, genius. They could be growing and selling it right now, in their fucking yards, instead of bitching about it and rolling to Walmart every weekend.Cid wrote:Because conservatives had their good paying jobs fucked over and they can't afford the artisinal bullshit that helps the environment and makes your shit smell like baby vomit? We're working on putting together a home operation ourselves, right now. Breads, jams, pickled/spiced canned fruit and veg, all home grown.

Oh there's idiots both among the conservatives and the liberals when it comes to food production. Don't think for a second the reds are smarter than the blues in that regard.GrumpyCatFace wrote: How on earth did Conservatives decide that artisinal, local foods are 'elistist' and not the exact fucking thing that would save rural economies??
