Thanks ape, but I was joking with you - my mom grew up on a farm in a very sparsely populated part of the Catskills. Her family has lived in the general area where Greene, Delaware and Schoharie counties come together for a long time. I can literally walk down the street in some of those tiny towns and I'm related to everyone I see. She's always bitterly complained about people hearing NY and thinking NYC. I feel the same way about NJ - I live in farm country far away from the turnpike or parkway.

Nah, I'm not really very good at the Johnny Reb accent, my theatrical Dixie accent is Southron, Southron Gentleman, and it's perfect, but unfortunately, it's a dead accent, Southron just isn't around anymore, none of the "Southerners" talk like that now, they're all Johnny Rebs.
