They can try, but as long as Chicago remains in the United States, they won't get past Trump's Supreme Court with that kind of tyranny.

It's obvious what will happen. I said this before. The federal government will have to step in and take over the pensions. The people will get no more (and probably less) than a disabled veteran.

You can't promise people what you don't have, and future tax revenue is something you don't have. It depends upon all the participants of a city remaining in the urban economy and contributing to it. But when they realize they are paying huge tax bills for little to no services so bus drivers can get huge pensions.. they are going to leave. This is what happened to Detroit. It's happening to Chicago now. It's going to happen to ever democratic-controlled city in this country eventually.
