Re: Proper Procedure for Fighting?
Oh he's grasping... because the thing is his entire statement depends on training and education in fighting in the first place. Oh and for the sake of argument, MMA is plenty violent enough, most people would be lucky to even get 1/2 of the motions that MMA does, a real fight in most cases you get on your ass, and that's the end of it if the person is any type of scum...StCapps wrote:Captain Obvious is back and he isn't grasping anymore, at least for now. That's better.
As I've said in the past, you don't fuck around fighting, you fight like your life depended on it, because if you get into a fight, it had better... for there is no other reason to get into one. If you can't debate without fists, then you are a poor negotiator...
You punch, you kick, you do whatever is required to make sure you get out of top. It is the reason I have learned how to fight in multiple ways... so that if put into a situation I won't be without options.
On a side note, the last time I was in a fight, I re-broke the guy's arm that was attempting to choke me with his cast (and the cast itself), and beat him so badly with the cast that his ribs broke... he was one out of three attacking me. After I was done with him the other two had second thoughts...
Otherwise I try for a peaceful way out...
Pray for peace but prepare for war.

Negative.
MMA prepares you for a sport which is wholly different from a street fight. What works well in MMA is likely to get you killed on the street. Getting on the ground in a street fight, in particular, would be a Darwinian culling.

Thanks to StA, I now realize that I shouldn't pull guard on someone when the ground is littered with glass. What ever would I do without such vast knowledge of street fighting at my disposal?

http://www.military.com/military-fitnes ... t-fightingMixed martial artists are not allowed to pull hair, bite, hit or kick the groin, or stomp on the head of a grounded opponent...
...the street criminal has learned that these are ALL valuable tools to destroy your opponent in the shortest amount of time.
Now the answer to preparing for this kind of violence is NOT to begin walking into biker bars and shouting out that they all need training wheels and then fine-tuning your skills in the back alley.
BUT, if you're only training for mixed martial arts type matches and ignoring the implementation of more brutal (and street valuable) attacks, then you may one day find yourself going for that arm bar while your attacker sticks a finger deep in your eye or motions to his friend to begin stomping on your head.

Share more street fighting wisdom with us Captain Obvious. Should I not dive on a guillotine attempt, while the guys buddies brandish machetes and surround me? Is that a bad call? Without you here, I'll never know.

If it's so obvious, it shouldn't need to be stated. But apparently it does, and it burns your cookies to even mention it.

Exactly. Yet you state it anyway, despite the complete lack of need for it to be stated. What gives?Speaker to Animals wrote:If it's so obvious, it shouldn't need to be stated.
