Lulz, not only did you not "read the whole thing," you didn't even read the first two paragraphs. Spolier alert: They (peer-reviewed Cogent Social Sciences) took it down; the OP has the link to the archived PDF.
I read the first half. It's 4,000 words. I got the gist of it. They wrote a BS article to see if they could get it peer reviewed and published. They were successful. What did I miss?
Rawwr :scared:
I put the archive link to the fake piece first, then the link to the short article about the fake piece second. I meant to ask you to read the whole article about the fake piece, not the whole fake piece (unless you wanted to). The whole Recency-Primacy thing. I guess I should practice short attention span posting. Sawwy.
I didn't read the fake study much at all. I saw the premise was bogus and started looking for the joke. I'm still not sure what I missed. I read about half the article about the pay-for-peer-review scam that seems to be gaining traction.

Each Cogent OA title offers the highest standards of peer review, overseen by expert editors and editorial boards. We’re proud of the friendly and constructive approach we take with all our potential authors. Our editorial teams evaluate submissions on the grounds of relevance, sound methodology, and clarity, rather than the predicted level of future importance.
Our peer-review process is single blind.
Seriously, I think you guys should just stop paying taxes at this point.

Oh, alright then, we'll compromise.. Fife start a national law firm aimed exclusively at low-cost legal aid for the Average Joe to pay as little as legally possible in taxes, using every available loop-hole known to American law.
Starting a little early on the mead today Danelander?
Stop shooting my constructive problem solving solutions down, Pessimistimarican! If there aren't any Average Joe loop holes, you and your fellow Joe's conscript a brigade of lawyers, lobbyists and accountants and command them to start digging them loop holes.
However, in the short term, pay-to-publish may be a significant problem because of the inherent tendencies toward conflicts of interest (profits trump academic quality, that is, the profit motive is dangerous because ethics are expensive).
We should probably keep paying taxes guys.
HAIL!
Her needs America so they won't just take his shit away like in some pussy non gun totting countries can happen.
