I remember it being very common to run into smaller sharks swimming up and down the beach at Panama City where the small fish hung out.

Oh yeah. I have been stuck with them growing up around the Space Coast beaches. It really fucking sucks when you see the fish jumping out of the water and lots of splashing around you, and then there's not a set in sight.
