You can still get "wild" salmon at the store. But you have to make sure it's not farmed. Farmed fish is really bad for you.

25 to 30 minutes is too long. You don't want to over cook it. 15 to 20 should be plenty.Hastur wrote:Salt and pepper it, put on some sliced lemon, a mountain of dill and butter chunks. Put it in a buttered pyrex dish. Some white wine or lemon juice in the bottom. Cover with aluminum foil and cook in 450 F for about 25 - 30 min.
Serve with potatoes and a nice Crème fraîche - herb sauce.

Yeah, I don't cook fish for long at all. It's still cooking when you pull it out of the oven or a pan.

Because I'm lazy and can afford it. I buy it and season it myself from other stores and the price isn't much lower.Hastur wrote:Why would you buy salmon like that? It's one of the easiest things on earth to season and cook right. What's in that "pesto butter"?California wrote:This is the best thing at Costco

And pesto butter is butter infused with pesto.
You can make that yourself by melting down butter, mixing pesto into it, and re-chilling the butter

And you can make pesto by blending pinenuts, basil, parmesan and a little olive oil in a food processor. Loads more flavour than what you get in a jar.
