Cargo shorts are British, first adopted by the British Army as tropical battle dress in 1938, the pant pocket designed to carry a field dressing, the US Army adopted the British design in 1940, so cargo shorts, are actually un-American, might as well just call them Limey Shorts, because that is what they actually are.

America is the world gold standard when it comes to wearing cut-offs in the pool and having sex on the 5th green at 0100.

Come see us sometime.

Not cargo shorts, the Rhodesians wouldn't be caught dead in cargo shorts, Rhodesian shorts were short shorts, no cargo pockets, like the Navy SEAL UDT shorts.

Baggy shorts with cargo pockets; gets caught on things as you're going through the jungle, Rhodesians, SEALs, Viet Cong; they all went for the short shorts, maximum tactical and stealthy.

Pro tip; cargo pockets are worse than useless for tactical operations, never put anything in your cargo pockets, just rattles, wacks against your legs, and/or catches on things, not to mention they're not secure, troops lose things out of their cargo pockets constantly; keep all your kit in your fighting order.

You know what? Cargo shorts are actually degenerate, I'm going to swear off cargo shorts right now, no more cargo shorts, I'm going UDT from now on.
