“The arithmetic of this is inescapable: NATO countries will soon have to send soldiers to Ukraine, or else accept catastrophic defeat,” military strategist Edward Luttwak wrote in an oped published on Thursday by the British online media outlet UnHerd. “The British and French, along with the Nordic countries, are already quietly preparing to send troops – both small elite units and logistics and support personnel – who can remain far from the front.”

This will not work for NATO. Thusfar, Hypersonic missiles are unstoppable, and Russian intel seems to be pretty good. They will find NATO concentrations and hit them aggressively. Russia has already said NATO units will be a top priority.

Then what ?

Idiots worked themselves into a nuclear standoff, and are too dumb to back down.

We’re headed for Cuban Missile Crisis 2.0, and the empire is over - whether by annihilation or capitulation.

Perhaps.

A weird thing has occurred during this war. Russia failed in it's plans for an early decapitation of Ukraine by taking Kiev. NATO training, equipment and Ukrainian hatred for Moscow was enough to stop them. But not enough to make Russia quit. History seems to indicate that when dealing with Russia, you make them quit early, or you lose an extended fight. Finn Winter War, and Russo Japanese War as early exits by Russia, while you know the extended ones.

In a weird way, this war may make Russia into a rising power that perhaps nothing else could manage. By taking those early losses, they had to rethink things, get desperate about innovation, and could suffer no fools...........ie, rely on merit at every level.

Darryl doesn’t think the intent was ever to take all of Ukraine. If they wanted Kiev, they’d have it. Russia didn’t even go after infrastructure in a meaningful way until a year into the campaign.

It looks like they took exactly what they needed for a border state, and coastal access, then waited for Ukraine to submit. Ukraine wanted to, but the UK flew BoJo in to put a stop to that shit.

Ukraine is just a plaything at this point. It’s never going to be a functioning country (if it ever was).

I never believed and still don't believe they want to take all of Ukraine. But I do believe they wanted an armored task force in Kiev to force the settlement they wanted. There's not doubt their initial push was a little haphazard. They went with what they had. I think for the first year of the war they truly thought that they could get a settlement. But when Nordstream went, that was pretty much it.

Regardless, it really does look like there's going to be a large Russian Offensive this Spring.

Hard to say. The game theory is getting weird now. If they push and take all of it, NATO panics and invades. If they sit back and chill, they eventually get what they want, unless NATO panics anyway.

Saw this from Luongo the other day, and it’s kinda brilliant. https://tomluongo.me/2024/04/06/nato-it ... ss-garden/

Essentially, the globalist blob is desperate for a casus belli - in Israel, Ukraine, anywhere. All their enemies have to do is wait and stay restrained, for the empire to implode.

The only reasonable purpose of propping up Ukraine was to force Russia to waste resources. There was never really any hope for Ukraine in a long drawn out war. Best case scenario was a stalemate. You have to know when to back off and negotiate peace.

I really don't understand Western leaders disdain for Russia and desire to keep this war going. What do we have to gain by propping up Ukraine?

Money laundering for U.S. elites.

Certainly money laundering, but I think it's far deeper.

Brits are maybe more committed to the project than us. They've been involved in the region for nearly 200 years.

We been involved since the 1917 resistance to the Bolshevists.

Yalta Conference was in Crimea.

Lots of shit quietly happening there, and a lot of nefarious activities
