The last time this was tried was during Katrina(that I know of).

The governor ordered the National Guard to confiscate firearms due to an Emergency Declaration. Some were confiscated, but a single National Guard Sergeant put his foot down and said NO. Explaining to his troops and leadership why it was unconstitutional and he got the order rescinded. And it's a largely forgotten episode now, just before big social media exposure.

We must remain vigilant and at some point, we will have to use the type of power that is used on us at all times and arrest people like this.

The order is being enforced, and citations will be forthcoming from the State Police,” said Caroline Sweeny, a spokesperson for Lujan Grisham’s office. ”To ensure officer safety, we will not be providing additional details at this time.”

The cops were in plainclothes. Fines coming in the mail.
