The collision of an American drone with a Russian Su-27 fighter jet occurred on Tuesday morning shortly after 07:00. Two Russian fighter jets dropped fuel in front of the drone and then one of them crashed into it and damaged its propeller. This forced the US military to direct the drone into the sea as it was uncontrollable.

The report I saw said the Russian fighter jet collided with the drone.

It sounded a PIT maneuver, clip the back rotor to disable the drone. It doesn't seem very plausible that the contact was accidental.

Basically the same way Brits used to take down V-1 Buzz Bombs in WWII. They just flipped it.

A podcaster, I can't remember which one, was explaining how the Americans called the Romanians to pick it up but the Ruskies were closer and they got it first because it was just off the coast of Crimea. He explained the maneuver the jets were reported to have used in the Russian press.

Scott Ritter was the one who said they used the afterburner. Russia said there was no contact & the maneuver they used was tail down. He was guessing.
