So, one thing I am for nationalization is the railroads (but not the train operators). I say treat them the same way as we treat roads.SilverEagle wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 7:08 pmAs of right now we’re okay. All of us around here are getting more pissed off as the day pass. I’m 6 miles south of the derailment. I also grew up in this area, Negley. The north fork of beaver creek is fucked. As kids my buddy and I would fish for small mouth bass down that part of the creek from dawn to dusk in the late 80’s. It will never be the same. Breaks my heart honestly. That north fork joins up with the rest of beaver creek and flows into the Ohio River. Weirton WV picked up chemicals from the derailment and had to start using a different water source. That’s how bad this is. I’ll never eat another deer from around here. Especially Bucks because they tend to travel a lot.
You want to hear something more messed up? Norfolk had trains waiting in Columbiana Ohio and as soon as they burned off the chemicals they started running the trains again……minutes…..not days later. They have to make that money! That’s why they burned it. Because making a lined trench to pump out the chemicals would’ve taken too long. Fuck that railroad!

I’d be happy with the administration not threatening to imprison strikers.TheOneX wrote: ↑Thu Feb 16, 2023 7:09 pmSo, one thing I am for nationalization is the railroads (but not the train operators). My rep believes the government it doing everything that needs to be done. That it's a right-wing conspiracy that is trying to make the Biden admin look bad.C-Mag wrote: ↑Thu Feb 16, 2023 10:43 pmYou guys should be.SilverEagle wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 7:08 pmAs of right now we’re okay. Not sure that's the answer, the Feds can run Amtrak. I can't see where that failure warrants gaining responsibility.
What we need to Trust Busting again. These monopolies of international Corporations have gotten too big, and its too easy for them to buy all the politicians, which makes it citizens against the Elites.

Yeah I don’t know about that. The tracks aren’t the problem. The operator (Norfolk-Southern) gutted their maintenance people.

Guys working nonstop double shifts. Easy for things to get missed when your entire maintenance staff is exhausted.
