Absolutely. The finger pointing at others is lame as fuck.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 9:58 amNobody’s fooled. Most of the world thinks it was the U.S.
The US tried to say Russia did it, no one is buying it. Now the CIA has come out and said Ukraine did it.
Sure, Ukraine escaped a blockade and mines through the black sea, sailed around Europe and pulled off a secret op without NATO seeing it.
Our leaders are cowards. They should just own it.

Just seems a pointless move, for the US. (Thinking strategically as always).C-Mag wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 9:51 pmAbsolutely. The finger pointing at others is lame as fuck.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 9:58 amNobody’s fooled. Most of the world thinks it was the U.S.

If it was us, then it’s not only an absurd escalation that puts all of our international infrastructure at risk. It is ALSO a crazy fucking move against our allies, for no gain. Think about what this looks like to Germans in a couple of months.
On the other hand, if I’m Poland, I’m sweating on the edge of the abyss here. I want to burn the bridges behind the rest of the EU so that I don’t get sacrificed. Still doesn’t make a ton of sense, but more sense than the US blowing up an unused pipeline.

Europeans will decide who is to blame in the long run.
And they are starting to get nervous.
This will be a Winter of Scaricity for Europe. The year after will be worse.

I see your point and I agree. However we do have a potato as president and the west wing is full of idiots right now. I would not put it pass them to pull a stupid move like this.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 10:01 pmJust seems a pointless move, for the US. May have been Norway. They opened a new pipeline to Poland the next day.

Zerohedge with a piece on the pipeline attack
Swedish seismologists estimated that the power of the explosions may have reached the equivalent of up to 700 kg of TNT. Both NS and NS2, near the strong currents around Borholm, are placed at the bottom of the sea at a depth of 60 meters.
The pipes are built with steel reinforced concrete, able to withstand impact from aircraft carrier anchors, and are basically indestructible without serious explosive charges. The operation – causing two leaks near Sweden and two near Denmark – would have to be carried out by modified underwater drones.
Every crime implies motive. The Russian government wanted – at least up to the sabotage – to sell oil and natural gas to the EU. The notion that Russian intel would destroy Gazprom pipelines is beyond ludicrous. All they had to do was to turn off the valves.
