What I've said is Russia does war differently, and claiming Russia has lost in the first 3 weeks because you judge the war from western standards is short sighted. The experts said Russia would not be able to conduct war after mid March. That was wrong, and everyone that went along with that assessment and continue to go along with assessments like that are making Putin look good.

What I've said is Russia does war differently, and claiming Russia has lost in the first 3 weeks because you judge the war from western standards is short sighted. That was wrong, and everyone that went along with that assessment and continue to go along with assessments like that are making Putin look good.

I am well aware of how Russia does war

even by those standards

they are doing a piss poor job of it

they don't fight as a team, in combined arms

they are poorly supplied and poorly trained

they haven't had a coherent plan from the start

and they've created a strategic situation where they can't win the war

even if they start doing a whole lot better on the battlefield

they have no way to walk away stronger than they came in

all they can do is damage control

even if Ukraine unconditionally surrenders right after this post

Russia is still weaker than it was in early February

This is not even an exaggeration. People are literally taking this position. As I mentioned in another thread, my own MIL came to Easter with the "so are you a Putin Republican?" talking point.
