You seem to be pro-Russia a little bit too, so the hypothesis seems to hold a bit.

Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine
I'm sure they are in the area, but I'm trying to ascertain their exact location in a military senseMartin Hash wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 10:27 pmI have no idea; that’s just what Russian sources say, but it does put Azov in the city.
I'm not interested in the narrative, I'm trying to figure who is actually winning the battles and how

They might really be pretty tough, though. I just don't see how they can operate inside a besieged city and then somehow come out to inflict all these casualties and material losses on the Russians either.
Once you sign on to a literal fascist militia like that.. I mean.. that's a real Rubicon moment too. That's 24/7/365 till you die. Training nonstop most likely. They were probably training for this war since the coup.

I’m a pro-Russian troll so you can ignore anything I say. It’s like being a Racist or White Supremacist. (I’m those too.)Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 5:54 amYou seem to be pro-Russia a little bit too, so the hypothesis seems to hold a bit.

downtown Mariupol is under constant bombardment
any unit there would be pinned down with the civilians
and yet the Azov regiment does seem to have killed a Russian General
so that doesn't sound like they are pinned down inside the city center

I wouldn't say that. I just think you are instinctively going to side with Russia even in the face of objective violations of the Laws of Armed conflict and, really, everything our civilization stands for (but, again, you don't believe in God, so that part is moot too).Martin Hash wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 6:21 amI’m a pro-Russian trollSpeaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 5:54 amYou seem to be pro-Russia a little bit too, so the hypothesis seems to hold a bit.
We all have our biases. I have mine too. There are areas where I would have these kinds of instinctive biases that blind me to things too. I am just pointing out a glaring weakness on the right, and it's a really big one, I might say.
I am not arguing with you. I am trying to get you to see it from a different perspective here to at least understand how your "enemies" see this situation. Look at this headline:
"Tucker Carlson hits back at claims he’s a Russia propagandist – despite previously saying he backed Putin"
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/worl ... 36335.html
If this war in Ukraine escalates into a new cold war, all these people on the fringe right are going to get marginalized from the rest of American society the same way they were in 1941 when their dogged support for the Third Reich, even after the atrocities and crimes were manifest, became untenable after Hitler himself declared war on us. A similar situation happened to the left when they could not for the life of them admit the communists in Russia (Stalin of all people) were totally evil. Then the cold war started in earnest and they were completely driven out. The rest of their countrymen just didn't want the risk of traitors in their midst.
That's the risk.
This isn't just about Ukraine, and this guy is committing atrocious war crimes. I get that we did that too in Iraq, but this is far beyond even what we ever did in recent times and, in any case, they seemed to have been gunning for us if it weren't for the Ukrainians stopping them in their tracks. What we just witnessed was not geopolitical maneuvering as far as I can see. He blitzed straight for Kyiv and sent a large force along the coast to mass along NATO borders.
Russia was storming straight for NATO and the fringe right still have Putin's crooked dick in their mouths. It's a bad look.

exactlySpeaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 5:35 amI don't even really get the Russian propaganda strategy here at all. They are painting this Azov Battalion as if these guys are Spartan heroes valiantly fighting a successful resistance against overwhelming odds. Juxtapose that with the total incompetence on display by the Russian army and air force, and the savage brutality displayed by the same. Propaganda is supposed to paint yourself as the Spartans and the other guys as Xerxes. I just don't get it. Do they want everybody to go join Azov Battalion or something? Is it reverse psychology?
Or are they just so incredibly bad, and their war effort has failed so incredibly, that turning Azov Battalion into a heroic enemy they couldn't possibly defeat is better than admitting that they were incompetent barbarians. E.g. Lost Cause myth.
Polk Azov is one battalion in an army of 1.2 million
but the narrative is making them legendary, the 800 Spartans

I’m marginalized. I’m fringe right. I’m an atheist. Did I miss anything?
p.s. I can do this all day.

Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine
this is where I don't get guys on this forum calling the Ukrainians the "Globohomos"
Polk Azov is not the "Globohomos", Polk Azov is the Waffen-SS
the pitiful Russian Zoomer conscripts are the "Globohomos" in this fight
