Wouldn't American sources of oil/gas be opened up if crude oil remains super high like it is now? And wouldn't that eventually help to bring prices down some?

It will be interesting to see if the U.S. sends contractors to Venezuela to help get their oil pumping. It's a disaster there, but we can extract and ship more of their oil too.

I'm assuming Venezuela is more dysfunctional than it was a few years ago. Sending oil crews down there is likely going to take setting up independent infrastructure and logistics for the workers. Secure lodging, steady food supply, plus independent telecoms. It would be a big project, but not foreign to energy workers. I'd think it would be working on the North Slope. Do your job, stay in the dormitory, can't go anywhere or do anything. Work, make good money for a couple weeks, go home, rinse, repeat.

Tell you right now I'm going to tell any employer, that if gas gets that high, I am going to work from home unless they reimburse me for traveling to work and to home. Gas inflation by 200% is not in the cards when it came to figuring out a salary.

I’m thinking of demanding a raise at some point soon. Got a 1.25% bump when CPI is at 7. This is nuts.
