rather than dig a bomb shelter
the thing to do is just fortify your home
you have a very good chance of surviving even a relatively close strike
simply by being indoors, away from the windows, in the bathtub
just like hunkering down for a tornado
in terms of fallout,
you just duck tape up all the windows and doors with thick plastic sheets, actually quite effective

Taped some garbage bags over the basement window for whatever that’s worth. I know you have to hunker for 2 weeks or so, but don’t know what it would mean for my garden.Smitty-48 wrote: Sat Feb 26, 2022 12:25 pm rather than dig a bomb shelter

and drink vodka
lots of vodka
it's a prophylactic against radiation poising
that's how the old lady has lived for years in the Chernobyl hot zone
she drinks a bottle of vodka everyday

especially when there is likely to be a NATO counterforce to knock the numbers back
and the Russians are most likely to go for a counterforce rather than all out countervalue strike as well
in this day and age, both sides are going shoot for each others nukes, while avoiding city killing exchanges

EXACTLYHastur wrote: Sat Feb 26, 2022 12:22 pm Ben Shapiro is right. The Western elites have become so materialistic that they don't understand people who fight for other values.
The truckers are the same.
They sold out, they don't understand people valuing nations. Elites have to be in shock a little seeing civilians take up weapons and make it very hard on a first rate global power. Remember all the shit in the last few years. What are you going to do against tanks and air force. Here's your answer.
Granted Ukraine has a lot of gear from the west.

Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine
this is not 1983
this is not going to be 25,000 warheads exchanged
more like 2500 at most
and these warhead now are not multi megaton yield
mostly 100kt-500kt range
this is not going to be an extinction event
not even the end of civilization
World War Three, but not the end of the world
