the BM-30 is like the cluster bomb warhead on the M270 MLRS

then the larger rocket bursts are unitary 220mm

then howitzer fire, smaller ones are 152mm, the big ones are 203mm

and that's regimental, division & army level artillery

so that is probably the main axis of advance for the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army

Kharkiv being Ukraine's second largest city after Kiev

the two columns encircling Kiev in a pincer maneuver coming down from Belarus,

they are not facing much resistance

the big fight right now appears to be Kharkhiv

not even Little Stalingrad, it's actually much bigger than tiny Stalingrad, now Volgagrad again

listen to this

first you hear the heavy howitzer firing, that's 152mm or 203mm

but then listen to what comes after

that's the 220mm rocket barrage

this is like the war we were preparing to fight in West Germany in the 1980s

live on tv in 2022

and I am old now, living in the dystopic science fiction future, in a totalitarian Canada

surreal

back in the 80's I thought the technology would be so much more advanced in the year 2022

but actually, it's the exact same Soviet kit from the 1980's still being used now

didn't see that coming

Why not? They have only until recently been given a flood of money? You can't upgrade tech that is decades old in less than a year.

literally unimaginable

what it would be like to be under that kind of bombardment

that is when their bowels are just letting go and they are literally shitting their pants

you would never recover psychologically from surviving just one of those salvos

this is above World War Two level of intense, just by the 1980's Cold War level of speed, accuracy & weight of fire

because America never has much of an opponent to fight

either insurgents, or a third rate military like Iraq

either imperial policing, or a minor skirmish walkover in the grand scheme of things

and because this is 1980's tech, which makes World War Two tech look quaint

this would be the most high intensity land warfare in history we are witnessing right now

I hope this is true.
There is a time for good men to do bad things.

For fuck sake, 1984 is NOT an instruction manual!
