This a rusty, half painted ship on patrol in the Pacific. The anchor was either not stored properly or is not fully functional, and the decks are dirty. This would never have sailed in the military I knew.

the Russians are bringing the whole package, with air supremacy

I went quite a way down that thread.
My thoughts:
-This is early, there will be a lot of bad information and disinformation.
-Ukraine may actually be doing that well.
-I do believe the Air Assault on the airport failed, those are really hard things to pull off. We damn neared failed against Panama.
-Ukraines recieved a lot Javelin anti armor systems, so no doubt they had some victories.
-Reddit is woke, I'm sure they hate Putin, it's going to be all Pro Ukraine
-either the Russians should just runaway right now, or Reddit is only allowing pro Ukraine info

bear in mind that the Russian army is an artillery army with a lot of tanks

so in addition to the Ukrainians getting pounding from the air

it's just a matter of time until the Russians have their heavy guns & rocket artillery in position

and they don't care about collateral damage, they'll just sit back and flatten the place with joint fires

so the longer this goes on, the worse of a pounding Ukraine is going to take

no sense in burning the village to save the village

they're not going to start lining people up against walls and shooting them

this is not a war of total annihilation

Russia would probably offer Ukraine reasonable terms in fact, upon capitulation
