You romanticize Fascism but still a good metaphor.

From your own example, it’s clear authoritarianism is man’s default state: liberty requires all parties being trained for it to work.

Well, you’re making me think.

Fascism may well be a natural/default state, when you scale tribalism to the societal level. Can humans ever find a societal balance between the tribe and the larger whole? I really don’t know what that would look like.

Eliminate the small tribe and you have totalitarianism, whether fascistic or communist. How do you promote the family within a cohesive society, and still achieve national goals?

Maybe representative democracy is the best we can hope for…. But without severe checks on power, we descend back into totalitarianism.

MAGA was real: however, it took 2 centuries to get there, and we lost it in only 20 years, but it DID exist so it is possible…
