no, that's not true, that's an 18th century myth, most recently propagated in America by Dan Brown in his book "The Da Vinci Code"
there was no single church authority which chose the Cannon, the Council of Nicea was not about that
I do find the history of religions interesting.
Their evolution as it were.
All religions being man made*, the way they spread and change as they do and how they shape culture interests me from an anthropological point of view.
I now get the opposition by the likes of DSL and Dr Youth to guns, germs and steel because of its omission.
