no, really, I'm a lover not a fighter

when I fight, it's compartmentalization, indoctrination from battleschool, I don't think, I simply react to contact, muscle memory

the adrenaline hits the blood, then the training takes over
You know what a lot of people do?

Run.

You can overcome the survival urge to immediately take flight in face of violence.
But it's tough.

the toughest thing is resisting the Devil inside me to come to Jesus instead

to break through the barrier of disbelief and surrender to the Prince of Peace

there's no voice, there's no instructions, you don't think it, you just feel it

you feel good, then you do good, then good things happen

but there are no orders from on high as to exactly what to do

No, there is not. There is guidance, but not orders.

The question I wrestle with right now is what will I do when faced with what I see in Australia ?
It's hard not to argue that the rulers of Oz aren't committing ungodly acts of violence on their own people.

Personally, I was willing to fight wars for the State, wars in foreign lands.......................... what would I say to God if I stood by while the State committed acts of violence against my neighbors ?

I can't say

yet Christ could have stopped the Romans from crucifying Him, but he did not use his power for that

instead, the Romans succumb to Him, 300 years later

the power & the glory

I have no idea how to answer deep theological questions like that.
But ... if it's any help ... I kinda go by the "You'll know the right thing to do when the time comes" theory.
Having the courage to do the right thing may be tough.
But I've found, in life, the right thing is usually pretty obvious.

Plus - it keeps your reactions unpredictable.

indeed, and when it comes to war, the only thing I feel is the Devil

those instructions, to kill them, kill them all, kill their families too, that is not Christ, I'm quite sure

I agree.

It goes well beyond theology. I know plenty of agnostics that are good people and choose right from wrong.
It is a time to sprinkle in a little deep thought. It's painful to watch what is happening in Australia, and all too real that it can happen here as well.

at this point I think I have simply reached the threshold of conscientious objector

I could render medical assistance to the wounded, evacuate casualties, but I could not defy Christ to kill people in order to save Australia
