since when are epidemiologists public policy experts?

why would someone listen to them when it comes to government mandates?

they don't know shit about the costs and benefits of such things

besides obvious appeal to authority fallacy is obvious, especially when that authority is an obvious entrenched interest who will throw anyone under the bus to save themselves

being an expert doesn't make you impervious to being wrong, including about the subject you are an expert in

it's not like all epidemiologist agree, and even if they did, that doesn't mean we should take their advice on government policy

particularly if that advice is totalitarian nonsense that is counterproductive to helping those they claim to want to help because they can't see the forest for the trees
