What did you think, doc?
I think Darryl is at his best when describing the human condition.

I can't relate to any of his descriptions of the psyche at the level he's talking about, but I guess most pathologies are at the far end of the spectrum of otherwise normal human behavior and emotion. So on some level I can maybe relate to even the most aberrant of behaviors.

It's just interesting for me to listen to someone speak on the subject with clarity. I can't say I'm a raging narcissist, but I think I can recognize thought patterns, that taken to the extreme might become debilitating. I'm not a drug addict on the street, but even just quitting smoking helps me empathize with someone that is. And I'm pretty sure everyone has a family member or friend that has gone way off the deep end with drugs and has puzzled over how someone can get so far out of control. Its just heart breaking to watch.

So, anyway, I just wanted to see what someone in the business of dissecting the human mind thought about his assessments.

Yeah, he's good...

And the human condition is a never-ending labyrinth...
but you can start to figure out where it twists and where it turns and some patterns,
and yet it's always ready to humble you, just when you figure you've got it sorted out.

Based on some of his recent posting, I'd wager he's having a show on WVA miner standoffs. All the civil unrest and oddities of 2020-2021 (thus far) pale in comparison with either 1877 or 1919.

It will be on the early American Labor movement, starting around the Haymarket through the 30s I believe.
He announced that on his show with Prof CJ> Better Dead than Red.

Cooper just taught me the real truth behind Hollywood Blacklists against Commies.

Hollywood unions asked for help from the federal government because Commies were taking over Hollywood, and it was all funded by Stalin.

I'm supposed to believe McCarthy was a bad guy.

Daryl's doing a subscriber show with cut material, interviews, and essays etc. Todays show contains his Dostoevsky Nitche outtakes. I'm on board.

I know a guy that does research for Darryl. He pays a handful of nerd tier dudes to do that for him. Don't know going how far back but thats how it works now. He also has fuck you money. Good for him but it makes wonder how long Dan Carlin was doing that. My naive ass thought these guys were doing it all themselves. Lmao. Now I know why I can't. I thought they were just that much better than me.

In the episode Darryl said he's a one man show, no researchers. Personally, I think it's possible, if all you did was read books, you could come up with the content for a show every 4 or 5 months. A lot of his shows are opinions and anecdotes.

Also he mentioned his email if you ever wanna reach out to try and get him on your show.
