I mentioned last week that I got into several verbal altercations about masks at the Washington State Fair: I thought I’d share one with you:

Gwynne & I were standing in line for a pineapple filled chicken rice bowl because we’d never had one before. Normally, I don’t stand in lines but it seemed unfair for me to hit the beer garden while she waited in the sun. However, I was distracted by my phone and not really standing in line: I was about 5’ away. It’s important to note that we were the only ones not wearing masks (outside). This guy in front of us asks me to “social distance.” I’m already standing in another county for chissakes; this guy was just virtue signaling. I said “No.” The guy’s fat wife said, “He asked you nicely.” I said, “I responded nicely.” The guy says, “Move.” I said, “What are you going to do: fight me right here?” It probably would have been over after the Male Dominance Hierarchy posturing but fatty stepped in between me and him, pulled down her mask & blew in my face: I returned the favor. Remember at least 100 people are watching. The bitch thought I would back down but I stood my ground. She took out her cellphone: “You want to take my picture?” I asked. She screamed, “I’m taking your picture!” I smiled. She insulted me: “You have corn in your teeth.” I didn’t move. She stormed off, presumably to find Security to throw me out (men with badges). I stayed put. I stepped up to the guy and said, “I’m sorry I amped you up, man.” He replied something about his wife. I said, “That escalated fast: I certainly didn’t need the adrenalin.” She came back about 10 minutes later. Nothing more. About 5 minutes after that it was their turn but they weren’t paying attention: I tapped the guy on the shoulder & pointed.

When we got served, I took the food to the beer garden and sat down. The guy at the table next to me was from the line: he’d seen the whole thing. He didn’t mention the event but we did exchange an out-of-the-ordinary cordial conversation table-to-table.

After WXYZ-TV posted its appeal for stories about unvaccinated loved ones dying of COVID, something remarkable happened.

Thousands of Facebook users shared stories describing alarming vaccine side effects, or posted about fully vaxed loved ones dying of the coronavirus. The viral post appears to have become a popular forum for victims of the vaccines to share their stories.

Post-Vax, cases skyrocketing.

How can anyone look at the numbers and come to the conclusion that the vaccines are working? All they say is, "Oh, breakthrough cases are rare and it makes the sickness less severe if you get it."

The only way the sickness is severe is if you're diabetic, elderly, fat, or all of the above.

Remarkable restraint. Imagine being married to a horrible woman like that, who also happens to be fat.

I'll have to keep your story in mind if anything similar happens to me. Unfortunately, the places I was raised would almost guarantee that a similar encounter would result in a fight. That's not a good thing - it's just how it is. Like a trained dog - if someone steps to me and physically engages the reflex is just to start swinging - because if you don't, things are going to get a lot worse.

Glad you kept your cool and didn't give the cow a viral video to ruin your life.

Dominant liberal culture is, if nothing else, fiercely rule-abiding: they get very upset when they see anyone defying decrees from authorities, even if the rule-breaker is the official who promulgated the directives for everyone else. Photos released last November of California Governor Gavin Newsom giggling maskless as he sat with other maskless state health officials celebrating the birthday of a powerful lobbyist — just one month after he told the public to “to keep your mask on in between bites” and while severe state-imposed restrictions were in place regarding leaving one's home — caused a drop in popularity and helped fueled a recall initiative against him. Newsom and these other officials broke their own rules, and even among liberals who venerate their leaders as celebrities, rule-breaking is frowned upon.
