Yup, I struggle with this mightily. This is a well known phenomenon in the psychology world. There is such a thing as too many options. One of the best things you can do to improve your mental health today is to artificially restrict how many options you have. It makes choosing easier, so you can just get on with your life.

just like if you transported a kid now back to 1979, first thing that kid would notice would be everybody smoking cigarettes everywhere

information paralysis has replaced nicotine as the opiate of the masses

not for me tbo, I don't have a smart phone, being from 1979 world, I still smoke cigarettes

the two drugs are profoundly different tho, in terms of the political consequences

because when you are smoking a cigarette, that is actually when you are thinking, that is the break from work where you go internal and think

whereas the information paralysis prevents thinking, it's like an electronic jammer which jams a person's creative internal monologue

furthermore, the thing we carried around to pass the time back in 1979, was the pocket book

so when we were sitting on the bus, instead of watching Telescreen, we were reading books
