excellent service once again by the local police
the guy started wandering off because he could hear the siren as they were coming from the Hanlon
when they showed up, very polite, very professional
don't worry, Mr Smith, we'll take care of this

Sounds Canadian as fuck.
In the US when the cops roll up, all that means is another dangerous factor has been introduced.
Maybe they'll take statements and leave.
Maybe they'll arrest you.
Maybe they'll arrest him.
Maybe they'll arrest you both.
Maybe someone gets shot.
Kinda depends on which police and which neighborhood.
But I had a road rage incident where some jackwagon got mad about my merging and literally slammed his car into the side of my truck. The dumbass clearly didn't pass physics, because he put a scratch on my truck, but collapsed the side of his own car.
I wasn't even gonna call the cops. Buddy found out what was up. Did $0 damage to my vehicle and wrecked himself.
But ... my wife insisted, so I told the state troopers (figuring they were the least likely to give a shit or want to see me in person). When they asked me what I wanted them to do about it I just said "Nothing. Just reporting it so if he does it to someone else you have a record".
Well ... good thing I did - because it the 5-0 swarmed my house about an hour later. The jackass, after road raging and trying to force me off the road, then called the police to report ME as a dangerous driver. BUT - since I had already filed a report and immediately offered to produce a witness to the event - the cops just called it a 50/50 shared fault incident and closed the case.
Dumbass almost got us both thrown in county.
Fucking weirdos.
