Re: The Era of Biden
I would have to agree with the Afghans
NATO being a conventional military which is inclined to employ vastly too much firepower
attack helicopters, artillery, air strikes, burning the village to save the village
the Taliban are vastly less threatening over all
while they may go about settling scores with their enemies, they don't flatten the villages as they go
they just don't possess the firepower, all they really have is AK's, RPG-7's and IED's\
the face of NATO is a 2000 lb JDAM going off where you live with your family

if you shouldn't have gone in at all, that doesn't mean you stay around and try to win a war where winning gets you nothing of valueThe Conservative wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 5:34 amYou don't go into hostile territory for a stroll in the park. You are dreaming if you think we can win this war without boots on the ground. No war has ever been won otherwise.
Taking land by drone only works so long as you can maintain superiority, you go to the sky, they go underground.
If the Mexican border has proven nothing it is that if you don't cover all bases the enemy wl exploit your vulnerabilities.
And before you say Japan, think really hard, because there is nothing to compare the two with.
even if America did win it, what does that get them?

No, they rape women, children, they kill the men and any educated woman, and take over a region, or leave it to be destroyed by making it so that it can't obtain any form of support from the outside.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 7:59 amI would have to agree with the Afghans

You don't remember when we were on the DNC do you? I said a long time ago we should have been out of there after we didn't find UBL in there... and we should have let the UN take over and re-build the country...StCapps wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 8:04 amif you shouldn't have gone in at all, that doesn't mean you stay around and try to win a war where winning gets you nothing of valueThe Conservative wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 5:34 amYou don't go into hostile territory for a stroll in the park. The US military was an entity that chewed bubblegum and kicked ass, and it was all out of bubblegum.
Now, I have no fucking idea what it is meant to be...

the Taliban are the militia which formed to fight against the raping of women & children by the drug dealers
the Taliban means "the Students"
the drug dealers come to the Madrassas and kidnap the boys to force them into child prostitution
it's called Bacha Bazi, "Boy Play"
NATO forces call it Man Love Thursdays
NATO troops were actually ordered to allow child raping to go on under their noses, right on NATO bases
this is what the Taliban fight against, this is why they are called the Students
they are the defenders of the Islamic schools
NATO allied itself with the drug dealers, so the Taliban were driven to fight NATO therein

yet here you are advocating to glass the place, just so America can claim an irrelevant "victory", indulging in a sunk cost fallacyThe Conservative wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 8:08 amYou don't remember when we were on the DNC do you? Re: The Era of Biden
It worked for the British Empire.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
