all I thought was what a wonderful wife I have, how sweet yet strong she is
I was in the moment, it was vivid, the world got very small,
it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, I was counting my blessings, living in the now

I hope he gets better, so you get some more time together. How is he handling having a new dog in the family? Older dogs can have limited patience with the young'uns. Maybe he is too old to care.
oh he's very annoyed by her, getting up in his face all the timeHastur wrote: Thu Aug 12, 2021 6:42 amI hope he gets better, so you get some more time together. How is he handling having a new dog in the family? Older dogs can have limited patience with the young'uns. Maybe he is too old to care.
Fair enough. I get what you are getting at and I have misspoken. Not sob stories in the way that they are stories to invoke sympathy from othera but yeah crucible where one can't help but sob, at times. Ruff fucking stuff. Those who know know. But there are joyous aspects too.Smitty-48 wrote: Thu Aug 12, 2021 6:35 am
it really wasn't
it was growth, my wife & I got stronger
it was a journey, there was pain, but there was joy as well
once we got through the crucible, we were uplifted by the memories come flooding back
in the moment, all I could think was, what a great life I haveHaumana wrote: Thu Aug 12, 2021 6:46 amFair enough. I get what you are getting at and I have misspoken. like I say, he's not in pain, he's just annoyed by the cone
he's sulking, but he's not in distress
we call him the Fun Police, because he just tries to get in the way and stop the puppy from playing
That's how it was when I had to put my 1st pup down. 16 year old Border Collie. I never had animals growing up. Chase was my first go at all of this.Smitty-48 wrote: Thu Aug 12, 2021 6:41 amall I thought was what a wonderful wife I have, how sweet yet strong she is

Yep, yep except the Lord part for me but I get the sentiment. Currently, I am calling it the "lucky penny." Always Heads up. It doesn't come without it trials but I have faith that it will come. Maybe that is it.Smitty-48 wrote: Thu Aug 12, 2021 6:48 amin the moment, all I could think was, what a great life I haveHaumana wrote: Thu Aug 12, 2021 6:46 amFair enough. what a romantic adventure this is
it was epic life, feeling it all, living in the moment, seeing what was most important
the Lord was with me, that's what it feels like
the puppy adores him of course, she literally went from the puppy pile to meeting SzaboHastur wrote: Thu Aug 12, 2021 6:49 amAttaboy!Smitty-48 wrote: Thu Aug 12, 2021 6:45 amoh he's very annoyed by her, getting up in his face all the timeHastur wrote: Thu Aug 12, 2021 6:42 am
