People complain about the Boomers not giving up the good jobs.
But when the next generation complains about Gen X not giving up the jobs, we can simply respond with "Y'all can't read. You have o be able to read to do this job. Sorry. It's not a greed thing, it's a your-stupid-ass-is-illiterate thing."
   Right! Facts! We’re that last “normal” generation far as work ethic and self driven by personal goals.

No doubt an idea birthed by the higher education industry. Business owners can’t even use a high schooler to count inventory, so it will now require a college degree.
American education isn't about learning anymore, it's about getting people into debt. Get everyone into college, hike the rates and offer generous credit. It's a big swindle, like almost everything in the US right now. Late empire resource extraction. Hacking away at the carcass.

Debt that cannot be discharged in bankruptcy.

Imagine counseling your children to begin working life as an indentured servant.

automatic high school diplomas was already the case back in the 80's when I was in high school

nobody actually failed, they passed everybody in the end, if you just showed up to class

I just went to high school to meet girls and hang out with my friends

I rarely even went class unless it was for that

then I just dropped out to go to battleschool after grade 11

I don't even have a high school diploma

Yeah, when I was in school the only reason you wouldn't get a diploma is if you dropped out or expelled. Otherwise it was nearly impossible to be held back or prevent graduation.

This is still a huge step backwards. Teachers now have even less incentive to even try and get kids to learn. In the past the threat of not graduating convinced at least some to try harder. Now neither teachers nor students will even put in the effort.

Teachers' unions have won the day for now. Have the money follow the kids is the answer to all of this if we can't just abolish the whole circus.
