The planet don't need saving. The planet will do fine. It's been through worse.

We might need to save human habitats, but that is for selfish reasons. Don't pretend you speak for the planet.

It's not just human habitat though is it?
It's the Oceans, rainforests, rivers, wetlands etc.
Just about the only habitat which is increasing is deserts.

Well the good thing about global warming is that this will change. A warmer planet usually means more moisture in the air, and more rainfall. Global warming will cause the Sahara to, at least partially, turn into lush grasslands and forests. This will reduce the amount of dust and sand blown over the Atlantic to the Americas resulting in the Amazon returning to savanna. A similar thing will likely happen to the Eastern US, but to a much less degree. What will happen with Canada and Russia is less certain, but the warming of these regions could potentially create large amount of arable land. The uncovering of Greenland will allow us to access large amounts of resources predicted to be buried under all of that ice.

I'm in no rush to create global warming, but it is not going to be the end of the world. Coastal cities will have a rough time, but other places may benefit from the warmer climate. Personally, I think we should get ahead of the game and start creating inland seas. There are regions in Egypt, Australia, and other places where there are large, mostly uninhabited, lands that are below sea level that we could flood converting some of the deserts into habitable land.
