it's not my thread

my great grandfather fought in every battle from Second Ypres to Mons, in the Great War

he was on parade with the 72nd Seaforth Highlanders of Canada

when the Canadian Corps was formed in Flanders

he fought up Vimy Ridge, he fought Hitler's Regiment at Passchendaele

he fought in the Hundred Days all the way to the last day of the war

he survived the war, only to die of lung disease in the Great Depression

from inhaling gas in the war
