How long before we get an electric racing league?
Formula E has been going for years and Extreme E started this year.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Formula 1 actually uses the electric drive to increase power more than fuel savings

it's the ultimate exploitation of gas and electric together, but they do use a lot more electric now

there is nothing on earth more efficient than an F1 car, so if they are still using gas, that is optimal by definition

Yup, they're basically hybrids now with added regeneration from braking.
Electric motors are simply better than ICEs these days in terms of pure speed.

I don't expect them to ever go fully electric

they'll always use a little bit of gas, it will just be some sort of woke faggot eviro-gas

Extreme E is the most environmentally aware racing you could possibly imagine.
Even the recharging is done with hydrogen fuel cell generators.
Nothing is flown to the venues, it's all put on a ship to move to the next race.
Many of the teams are owned by F1 drivers including Hamilton.
Not bad racing either.
They only last about 20 mins at full pace though. Batteries are still the weak point.

200 miles on batteries alone is a long way off.
Hydrogen fuelled hybrids are probably the future.
It won't be the same without the scream of a turbo charged V 10 though.
Formula E cars just sound awful, like souped up golf buggies.

the Gulf Arabs are paying for Formula 1 now, so I doubt that they will get rid of oil in the end

Praise Gaia.
F1 has always been at the forefront of technology. That leaks into the real world with advances in fuel economy and other benefits.
There's never been a need for eco-fascists like myself to storm off.
They're doing Gaia's work whether they meant to or not.

Don’t mistake me - I don’t care about efficiency, just curious whether electric can beat the F1 cars.
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.
