Getting a degree in Tech isn’t liberty: socialist States intentionally fill slots in schools with qualified candidates. Maybe not so much in Fascist States because you never know how many students are related to someone who can get them in.

Once you get that degree, liberty is all about freedom & opportunity. Do you have the opportunity to run a successful business in a Fascist State? No, not unless you know somebody. Do you have the freedom to start a business in a Socialist State: not really; there’s no bootstraps in Commieland. Every liberty dynamic is like that.

What government used to do to promote liberty was make admission into critical institutions blind: strictly merit. Same thing with business: regulations to limit good ol’ boy networks. I was the beneficiary. Now that’s been upended to literally favor someone for almost any reason over merit.

I realize that the only accomplishment that Fascists admire is my money, so being the world’s-only-ever-blah-blah-blah doesn’t amount to a hill-o-beans in their eyes. Hell, the more wealth, the more Fascists admire you, the more accomplishments, the less because I could have kept that money and started a bigger dynasty.

I currently have both the freedom and opportunity to do just about anything I desire. I can even gin me up an LLC if I want. I do not, however, have any guarantee it will be profitable - but that is true no matter what.

Lot's of non-tech small businesses thriving near me as well, even after a year of pointless restrictions.
