Another shitshow in the shithole country.

Cold weather in China kills 21 in ultramarathon
Twenty-one people were killed when extremely cold weather struck during an ultramarathon in rugged Gansu province in northwestern China, sparking public outrage on Sunday over the lack of contingency planning.

2. It is propaganda for their Socialist comrades, a victory lap.
3. All our leaders and institutions sold us out Marty. The Chinese found out no later than the Clinton Admin that American politicians were for sale, and they took advantage.

China finances look shaky. Not sure what will happen, but this doesn't look good.
Communist governments tend to expire after about 80 years +/- China is about there.

Re: China China China
it's the not the same situation as the Soviets in the 1980's
the rise & fall of the Soviets from the boom of the 1970's to the collapse of the 1990's was related to oil prices
the Soviet Union was essentially a giant military fuelled by the massive Soviet oil reserves, particularly in the Caspian
when OPEC imposed an embargo over the Arab-Israeli Wars, the price of oil spiked in what was called the Oil Crisis
this was to the great advantage of the Soviets, resulting in a boom for the Soviet Union in the 1970's
when Saudi Arabia decided that the Soviets were a threat to Arabia, the Saudis reversed course, increasing oil production
this incited the collapse of the oil price back $20/barrel in constant dollars, in 1986
the Soviets then went broke as the weight of their massive military could not be sustained at those prices
this situation is more like Lehman Brothers and associated 2008 Financial Crisis
the Communists could actually benefit from this sort collapse, as that would give them the mandate to take even more centralized control

Re: China China China
Evergrande was $310 billion dollars, so roughly half the size of Lehman Bros
it is likely just the tip of the iceberg, so you could have the same cascading debt crisis & contagion
again tho, the Communists are allowing this to happen, because with crisis comes opportunity
most likely they will nationalize the assets of the market, just as America did with the 2008 bailout
