The two sides discussed the on-going situation of the country and emphasised speeding up the peace talks in Doha................The Taliban refused to attend a Washington-backed conference in Turkey’s Istanbul last month that was being held in a bid to speed up peace talks. The event was later indefinitely postponed.

What I read out of this:
The Biden Admin pissed off the Taliban when they broke Trumps peace treaty which called for full withdrawl NLT May 1.

The Taliban said Fuck the US and is negotiating a separate peace deal with the Afghan government, likely leaving the US out of any favorable outcomes.

We now have two Afghan, Muslim entities brokering a deal with no input from the US, and doing so in a Muslim country. Whatever long term deals the Deep State thought they were going to get out of the withdrawl are gone. If they were negotiating for pipelines or minerals they can kiss that good bye because we didn't stick to our treaty.
