resting guys at this point is quite common
pretty much every player is banged up to some degree
heading into the playoffs
for example
the Avs rested MacKinnon
four of their last five games of the season
only playing him against VGK
to help keep their hopes winning the division alive
they also rested Saad the last three weeks
after clinching a playoff spot
even though he could have played too
