States still can pass their own laws preventing eviction. This was just another of their redistribution levers. Under the guise of helping out the helpless and sticking it to the rich, they end up hollowing out the middle while the lazy...*ahem*..helpless get their bribe in the form of free housing and the truly rich get their bribe in the form of buying up the properties from the small landlords.
I see the great migration continuing. Socialist states will get more socialist, and Liberty States are getting more Liberty. The individual state legislative action in 2021 is proving that.
