A fundamental principle of conservatism is that power is a corrupting force, and to be skeptical of it. Why so many conservatives put on their blinders when it comes to cops baffles me. When the woke come for you, they're the ones that are going to enforce it. Nobody is saying ACAB around here, plenty of cops are good people, but the fact is, most cops are will follow orders and decades of evidence supports this. They're going to enforce asinine gun laws, asinine drugs laws, take your cash, and they're going to shut down churches if they are told to do so. Not to mention that they totally have harassed and killed a lot people for no good reason.

Sure, but Canada cops aren't American cops.

"But cops kill people".
Blacks kill people too, disproportionately, yet I wouldn't approach a random black person by screaming "murderer" at them.

But communities and politicians vote for bullshit laws.

But every system above anarchy is a state, or at the very least a collective, and they all must enforce their collective rules somehow.
