I've been thinking lately that we've got the division of labor all backwards in the information age. It seems women are better suited for the office and professional environments, and men are better suited to the physical labor of securing, improving, and managing the homestead.

Besides, it seems like what everybody wants, right? Women keep saying they want the corner office, and men keep saying they want to be at home making shit in the garage, landscaping, or fixing the rain gutters.

Speaking of Jordan Peterson, he's always saying that masculinity is associated with order, and femininity with chaos, and that both are important.

But cleaning, making sure everything is tidy, and everything is in its place - well - that's order, baby. Maybe that is why women claimed to be suffering in the role of homemaker - they were never really suited for it, but at the time most the jobs required physical strength so it made sense.
