But who are "they"?
Google, Facebook
Geoge Soros, the Koch brothers
THe CEOs
The shareholders
Maybe it's us...
The Beyond Woke Federation of Radio Free Hashistan
On our Yacht...
who's in charge.
Or maybe it should be.
Take the reigns.
But who are "they"?
I'm willing to acknowledge the title of The One Percent, that's a good shorthand
Woke is really more of a religious cult running parallel to the political empireMartin Hash wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 1:18 pmFeminists, minorities & weirdos funded & empowered by authoritarians are in charge.
If you’re not one of those things, you’re the chargee, not the charger.
Amoebas don’t struggle with the knowledge of their mortality. It’s a constant burden to consider yourself as a mortal being, fearful of the future, and the dangers ahead.DBTrek wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 12:30 pmStrange take ... given that al of the lower animals have no form of belief system whatsoever. And yet, this is what athiests everywhere seem to cling to.
"Belief systems are for the weak minded!!!"
While nihilism is apparently reserved for every class of animal below homo sapiens, down to single celled organisms ... oh, and human geniuses of course.
"I'm not weak minded like you! I share the same philosophy as amoebas!"
lulz
You have a faith structure. You seem to have not chased your beliefs out far enough yet if you are making statements like that. You are not special. All humans have a leap of faith somewhere in their beliefs.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 1:42 pm
I think it’s fair to make the claim that the weak-minded among us require a faith structure, in order to make it through life. That’s not to say that the strong-willed might not choose to do the same - only that the weak absolutely require it.
In my experience, it isn't the weak-willed person who clings to religion. In order to be an adherent of historical Christian orthodoxy, you have to be able to weather the never-ending onslaught of an entire cultural apparatus telling you that there is no God, from age 5 to death. To do this with any effectiveness, you have to have some level of knowledge of apologetics and be able to internally make a case for your worldview, at the very least. Otherwise, you're not a religious person.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 1:42 pmAmoebas don’t struggle with the knowledge of their mortality. It takes a fair bit of mental fortitude to face that reality without an underlying ‘father figure’, or Great Noble Purpose, as provided by religion or The State.

Do they? Then why has Judeo-Christianity conquered and advanced the Western world, Islam the Middle East and Africa, while all the genius tribal people been systemically pushed aside like so much gibbering human chaff?SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 1:42 pmI think it’s fair to make the claim that the weak-minded among us require a faith structure, in order to make it through life. Very defensive response, and lacking in reading comprehension. /shrugDBTrek wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 2:00 pmDo they? Seems like our tribal atheists and their high-powered intellects should've created twice the civilization that the weak-minded, fearful, faithful managed to cobble together.
