I'm happy Dan was able to secure financial freedom for his family.
Not gonna lie boys, I feel betrayed in the way he did it. And im pissed at myself for thinking he was genuine on a bunch of issues.
I'd figured out he was soft on Socialism by the time I argued that Nazisism is not right wing, but just like Communism. Which was fairly early. But I was fooled by his Bill of Rights is a firewall stance.

Such low-quality video drivel aimed at the slavering midwit masses. "Rome had wealth inequality - SO DOES AMERICA!" - and every other nation on Earth "They say all Roads lead to ROME, well all roads now lead to Washington DC!!!" - seal clap - clap clap clap - arf -arf -arf
It's like Dan's lazy ass, or whatever bumbling cretin put this video together, took this meme as a literal blueprint for their production:
OMG, did Rome grow grain? AMERICA ALSO GROWS GRAIN!
it's even a bad analogy in the context of Rome
if you are going to invoke the Roman paradigm, this is not 1st century Rome, it's 4th century Rome
the Woke is a religion trying to seize control of the empire, to force the emperor to adopt their dogma

I'd be sympathetic to the message if it wasn't from a guy so clearly on the side opposite me.
Dan Carlin is nothing more than a mutterfukking entertainer. He has accomplished nothing, experienced nothing, shows no wisdom; who's he to be preaching to anybody.
I think you're being a little hard on him. He's definitely accomplished things. He created one of the most popular podcasts in the world, wrote a best selling book, and made a virtual reality war movie, to name a few. You dont have to agree with him, but the dude went after it and got it for sure.
Carlin found mitch and exploited it. Like Paul Harvey, Rush Limbaugh and Art Bell. He should be remembered as an innovator for that.
However, of all those innovators I listed, hes the only one that morphed his stated beliefs as soon as he became famous and wealthy.

Also he's the only one personally picked, elevated, and embraced by the establishment, instead of building his base to the point where the establishment simply had to take notice and accept him.
Rush, Art Bell, ....and possibly Paul Harvey all had to build their following until the establishment simply couldn't ignore them (not that sure about Paul's history).
But Dan Carlin went to a meeting of elites - sanitized his past, killed his forum, and took the cash to push their message forward.
