I actually don't think the Gen X/Millennial distinction is very useful. Pre-internet/Post-internet is better.

Gen X culture on steroids is right - the steroid is the internet, and being very-on-line makes you angry, aggressive, and shrinks your nuts.... like steroids. (Also, back acne from too much time in a gaming chair.)
HAIL!

Her needs America so they won't just take his shit away like in some pussy non gun totting countries can happen.

I am definitely pre internet

but Marshal McLuhan told us how it would be back in 1970

at first I couldn't really understand the mechanism

but in 2006 I bought a computer and went on the Dan Carlin Forum

then I thought, this is like doing lines of cocaine

this is another barrier with Millennials guys & girls

in the background everything is about pheromones

it's all in your scent

when you only interact with girls on the internet, they never smell you

hence why Tinder is cold

you don't actually get to twitterpated until you get right up in their dance space

when you are club dancing the pheromones are in the air

but the Millennial guys hang back, they keep their distance, they don't press her up against the wall

instead, they try to talk the putty into their bed, like it was an argument on an internet forum

Yeah - I'm just barely pre-internet, myself.

On the McLuhan tip, the way the internet combines passive 'cold' media consumption with engaged 'hot' consumption makes it really weird and addictive. I think video games are very similar, with a little more weight towards 'hot.'

I am susceptible to all these things

but I recognize it as what it is, like doing lines, you gotta dry out from time to time

but the younger Millennials & Zoomers, they are totally immersed in this junk all the time, they never come down

it's like there is nothing wrong with Capps, he's just an internet junky

soon as you get him off the internet, he is cool

in terms of chicks, he just needs more zone time, he missed an entire decade in virtual reality

it's like this girl the cop shot for trying to stab the other girl with the knife right in front of him

that's not even ghetto behaviour, that's not gangster

that is totally detached from reality, oblivious to consequences in the real world

she was a Zoomer, raised totally within VR not knowing anything else

the line between the Twitter world and the real world became blurred for her

I got my first email address and cell phone when I was 28, both initially for work purposes. I didn't conceive of any other reason to have them. Pre-internet was a hell of a drug.

I find the internet to be a double edged sword

like youtube is something out of a science fiction utopia

any song I want at my fingertips at an exponentially low flat rate price, never have to go to a record store

or the science fiction ultra encyclopedia

any relevant information at my fingertips in a split second when I know exactly what I'm looking for

but the younger folk just wonder around aimlessly in the wasteland, Brave New Word Huxley fashion, sedated

it's like Hanny says hot & cool

the hot part is that it makes them angry, the cool part is that it paralyzes them, paralysis by analysis

Scouting girls at the record store is gone with the wind, and that makes me sad. Not so much for me, I'm a little too old for that myself, but no young person will ever again know what a great big chunk of our culture even was.

I don't lament

I am just a pilgrim

you get up every morning and choose to walk the path

after a few paces of that, and bit of sunshine, I get a spring in my step

every day is a gift, as me ol pappy used to say
