Smitty's point is that arguing over the minutiae of this issue or that is a waste of time because you are caught in the dialectic. You are still operating under their rules, and you'll react in ways that are predictable.

If you remove yourself from the dialectic of modern politics, you operate in a different realm. It becomes less, "What are the leftists doing today, time to get mad about it. " and more, "What can I do in my own life that improves the quality of my life and prepares for the future productively?"

No point in getting worked up about Washington. It's dead and these are the death convulsions.

they are jamming you from getting on with your life, or even thinking about other things

the only way to win is to walk away, get on with real life, leave the clickbait behind
