Probably had something to do with that ‘snap live fire drill’ the Russians pulled.

I would say the larger issue is the Nord Stream 2 pipelineSuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 3:49 pmProbably had something to do with that ‘snap live fire drill’ the Russians pulled.
the Russia Hawks are trying to get that deal broken up
the Germans are sticking to the deal tho, they want the cheap Russian gas
the sanctions are ineffective so long as Russia is making Arab Money off the Germans
follow the money

this is all part of the Kremlin strategy to drive a wedge into NATO
you've got NATO West vs NATO East, NATO West siding with Moscow
Turkey is the wild card, Erdogan has his own Hitlerian agenda seperate from Brussels or Warsaw

Putin also has the geopolitical objective of asserting Russian power for its own sake
if the Russians don't make their own moves, project their own power, they risk becoming a satellite of Beijing
Putin shores up his base and asserts Russian independence by engaging in conflict with China's clients in the West
the Neoliberal order is Globalization, the Russians resist by seeking to dominate their "Sphere of Influence"
so long as they are the dominant force in the theatre, so long as they dictate events, they have achieved their aim
Russia is manoeuvring against NATO & China at the same time
in this theatre they have the asymmetrical advantage, they can leverage the EU without China putting a stop to it

Re: Poking the Bear Again
over in the China Seas there is a build up of a force against China called The Quad+6
The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QSD) is America, India, Japan & Australia
which is now being joined by the UK & France
then Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore & Taiwan as the lesser allies
so the UK has sent it's aircraft carrier and France is sending its nuclear submarines to join the QSD

I wasn't sure, there was a time I thought they only had one. I know they have a few in reserve, but it's like the US, reserve quite a bit, but a fraction of total not so many.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 6:07 pmthe RN has both Queen Elizabeth Class carriers in service nowThe Conservative wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 6:00 pmDoesn't the UK only have one carrier?Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 4:26 pmover in the China Seas there is a build up of a force against China called The Quad+6
