Why can’t Biden be lucky like Trump? Where’s Hanny to explain this?
You explained it perfectly. Trump gave away endless carrots.

It is good short term policy - mollify your adversaries.
So it wasn’t luck? I thought every Trump accomplishment was luck, or it was really someone else. He wasn’t a real investor, television personality or writer; anybody could have done it if they just had the money, time, inclination & luck.
Truth hurts?

I don't think I ever argued that Trump's success was always and only luck. (I would point out that you coined the term lucktocracy, though.)

I am arguing that Trump's policy was successful over the short term, with diminishing returns.

Trump simply made it clear that Washington wasn't going to go to any great lengths for Ukraine

Russia knew the Obama people were out of office, so they basically stood down and waited

now that the Obama people are back in the White House, Ukraine is more confident and Russia is more aggressive

this all really started with Obama, Obama had a vendetta against Putin

so this Obama's team putting things back to Obama's project to overthrow Putin

Obama setting a 'red line' that he didn't bother to back up was, I think, one of the most dangerous foreign policy blunders in my lifetime.

I have nothing intellectually in common with more than half the people in the U.S.; they’re either Commies or NeoCons (same as NeoLibs). I just need to sit this out and watch the Mutterfukkers self-destruct.

That's what people were saying about Trump and North Korea. WW3, Nuclear Hitler, and all that.

I will happily carry water for a policy of absolute American military supremacy - the specifics of how that is achieved, however, are open for civil debate.

well before that though, Obama went to meet Putin, and they did not hit it off

Obama the narcissist thought I'm gonna show this Putin guy who is boss

most of the shit Obama did wasn't phasing Putin

but when Kiev fell to Obama, that got Putin's attention, and he had to scramble fast to secure Crimea

in 2014 the Russians were not in a good position to go to war with Ukraine

things have changed in seven years, they are prepared to do so now, if they feel the need

this is kind of the message to team Obama, don't think that we won't smash Ukraine, we are ready now

You asked me, by name, to explain. I offered an explanation - I never expected you to like it or agree with me.
