Hanny is a lost cause; I have never once seen him change sides. I tried carrots with him for over 2 years; now it’s all stick.
It's not a personal beef with me, I like Hanarchy, quite sure we'd have a good time hanging out on my deck

I would submit that the danger comes from the Hanarchy point of view

that Crimea "is not really Russia", it's "not part of Russia", it's "just like Puerto Rico"

I think that is the view in Washington, and that is in my estimation the vector towards a nuclear confrontation

never mind that America would fight a nuclear war to defend Puerto Rico too
That is the danger in folly. Clearly Joe is not in charge. Now everyone is playing sleuth to try to suss out who is.

indeed, it's a power vacuum, too many cooks in the kitchen, nobody is in charge, drifting towards the shoals

Russians are just trying to settle the muddy water. Game can continue after that. Rational.

Dismissal and apathy is what is dangerous. Fumblefuck your way into a quagmire is one of the results.

when you talk about the advantage of Trump, that was his focus on domestic policy

he was safer with regards to nuclear war, because he put that on the back burner in a stable paradigm

in this case, they are all over the place

they are not focused on nuclear war, while they are upsetting the stalemate

if you are going to go into the Black Sea theatre, that is existential

it requires focus which the Democrats simply don't have

It is as chaotic as a dementia patient can be. Maybe Joe is really in charge?

But yeah, the Black Sea is a Rubicon, of sorts. Crimea was clearly that. Russians aren't ambiguous about their lines.

the Russia Hoax Red Scare is like a bull in the nuclear china shop

this is why the French & Germans are backing away from it, they are nervous

one of the critical miscalculations is that the Russian position has changed over the last seven years

at first, public opinion in Russia did not support a war against the fellow Ukrainian Slavs

but over seven years of conflict, the Russians have hardened their hearts about it

they don't fear a war in Ukraine, and they don't feel solidarity with the Ukrainians anymore

now they have fifty battalion tactical groups poised to teach the Ukrainians a hard lesson

lesson number one is America cannot save you, so take heed of our final warning
