Hit me when they've got well designed ships somewhere's I give a shit about.
I'm just reviewing the osint as to deployments in the theatre
United States European Command has gone to its second highest level of alert "Imminent Potential Crisis"
Yeah.
We looked like bitches over there for the last half decade. Too bad.
Infrastructure week forever!!! Let's get some automated destroyers out there... compliments of silicon valley AI, amiright?
I simply note that the Aegis BMD equipped DDG-51's are on the move from Rota through the Bosporus
a clear of show of force by the US Navy, this is the BMD v. INF arms race going tactical at this juncture

in terms of the general nature of the activities in theatre
I would continue to characterize it as strategic warning / show of force
with the caveat that the Russians are engaged in escalation dominance localized to East Ukraine
the major Russian troop deployment makes it unlikely the Europeans will do anything rash in the Donbass
the Biden Administration however is now upping the ante at sea
the USAF has also deployed B-1B & B-2A bombers to RAF Lakenheath in the UK

Hell yep. I'm happy to learn about the navy. Just trying to get myself into James Fenimore Cooper's sea novels.... boats are complicated.

not sure why you would characterize the Krivak IV as being 'crap'
just by their vertical launch cruise missile cells they are better armed than any NATO frigate
if there is one thing the Russians are the best at, it's A2AD at sea with supersonic anti shipping cruise missiles
I didn't say
the ships were crap.... never would. I lack the expertise. I'm sure they are well designed.
Just saying them Russians over promise and under deliver. re: Potemkin Village.
Hit me when they've got well designed ships somewhere's I give a shit about.

United States European Command has gone to its second highest level of alert "Imminent Potential Crisis"
So... we drive some boats into their backyard and then up our ‘crisis levels’. How often do they do that, every year?

afaik, NATO has not been at this level of alert since the Cold War in the 1980's
the Russians have not moved this many troops to readiness since they invaded Georgia in 2008
this is a bigger force than what they deployed to take Crimea back in 2014

again, I would characterize this as escalation dominance in action
the Russians are trying to force the Europeans to back down in the Donbass
none the less, this is not for exercise, these forces are on a war footing
and the Biden Administration is engaging in a slow but steady counter escalation, tit for tat
