on the bright side my wife is finally feeling the sting of knee jerk freedom hating Canadians

in previous lockdowns she was not inconvenienced, because Costco & Walmart were open

in this latest lockdown however, the freedom hating Canadians have insisted that Coscto & Walmart be closed

so now there is no shopping at all for the next month at least

my wife is fuming, but this is typical Canada, so let her take her own medicine

this is all on top of the fact that the reason for the lockdown in the first place is the shortage of vaccines

Well I can ensure you that America will never be at 100%. I will not take it. Most of the people I know will not take it.

most people here are knee jerk freedom haters, so there is no opposition, no resistance

so again, this the danger in Canada

it's not about violence in the streets, it's about government repression

there is no check on government overreach, most Canadians demand more of that not less

in actual fact, the Soviet Union was not as restrictive as Canada is now

we can't even buy basic household goods, not because of a shortage, it's a punishment

the government botched the vaccine program, now they are punishing the public as if it is our fault

much of what is on Amazon has to come from America, with duties charged on top

so Amazon is not actually able to replace Walmart & Costco

I don't even have room around here for more products

the point is simply that there is no basis for closing the big box other than punishment

people still got to Walmart to buy food, it's not any more socially distanced than before

it's just because they are American companies and Canadians resent them

the knee jerk Canadian response to everything is to punish themselves with government overreach

anybody in Canada who wants to freely buy American must be punished by the Soviet state

exactly, the small retailers are being destroyed

but I am not actually opposed to that, I despise Canadian retailers with a passion

they are all rent seeking gougers who provide terrible service

I already boycott Canadian retailers, I only buy American, I only shop at Costco & Walmart

they know, there are more & more people like me all the time, that's why they are shutting Costco down

just like the Soviet Union, Canada cannot compete with America

talking to Americans still has a point

Canada however is a lost cause

so I adopt the survivalist approach, I dissent by actions rather than words

I withdraw from as much of Canada as I am able, I suspend active participation in trying to prop it up
