Deregulation led to the Oligarchy, and tax cuts led to extreme wealth concentration: Thanks RR & BC

tbh, everything has pretty much worked out for me like that, so I'm not actually complaining

I don't think Glass Steagall would have made that much of a difference anyways

we had the worst stock market bust of all time in 1987 under Glass-Steagall

I tried to warn them back in the 90s, but they didn't want to hear it, they attacked me for trying to redpill them

Me too but that doesn't solve anything. Even now, I don't know how to fix democracy? I run: that's the best I can come up with.

I don't put faith in democracy to change things, that's the cult of democracy

all democracy does is stave off a violent revolution for a peaceful transfer of power

but the changes are coming from an epoch, multigenerational

so I just take a survivalist approach

this is the world that John Carpenter told me it was going to be

decline & fall of the Neoliberal Empire

"Democracy" is definitely overrated, but still usually better than the alternatives. Really, the ideal government would be one of a benevolent and wise dictator. The problem is, how many benevolent and wise dictators have there been throughout history? Very few, if any.

democracy only solves one problem, you avoid a violent revolution

but it doesn't change culture, culture is destiny

the vast majority of problems are cultural, not subject being voted out

all you do by voting is prop up the institution of voting, that's the only practical effect

when a politician promises to fix something if you vote a certain way, that's the cult of democracy, faith based

the cult of democracy absolves people of ever actually fixing anything, all they have to do is vote

if there's only people taking absolute positions and voting to veto everything, that's basically a failed state

It's an interesting ideological dilemma: democracy isn't the paramount goal, liberty is, as specified in the preamble of the Constitution, but democracy poses the greatest threat to liberty because people can vote it away, as we've seen; now shut up about the shamlection and put on your mask.

It's an interesting ideological dilemma
easily solved

abandon all hope in democracy,

shift to a survivalist model now,

prepare to live in a failed state,

everything will be like Mexico

not voting will be the least of your problems
